About Us

The Mazer Cup International Mead Competition (MCI) is operated and hosted by the Mazer Cup International Incorporated, a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization. No funds are disbursed to board or planning committee members except to reimburse out-of-pocket expenses which are verified by receipts/invoices. The Mazer Cup International is an IRS-approved and registered non-profit in the State of Colorado. All proceeds from entry fees and associated events are used to fund the competitions and to give financial support to charities. This year we will be supporting a local food bank named Harvesters. The Mazer Cup International Mead Competition and associated events are funded by competition entry fees, donations, and sponsorships. Our Federal Tax ID is 46-2154298.

This competition is produced and operated by mead-lovers and enthusiasts from across the USA who want to see mead restored to its rightful place as a mainstream beverage everyone can enjoy. MCI board members, directors, or competition managers are not permitted to enter the competition.
